The iPAQ 3835 is the model that I own and am very happy with it. It has the same feel as Windows xp. It uses the start menu. A huge bonus over Palm, is that it has Microsoft Pocket Word, which is very similar to the Word (on your laptop or desktop). You even have the choice on which format you want to save the document in. The choices are: Pocket Word (for viewing on the iPaq), Rich Text (which Palm devices can read), Plain Text (which Palm devices can also read), Word 97/2000 Document, Word 6.0/95 Document, or Word 97/2000 Template (I will post a tutorial later about Pocket Word). Also, the Pocket PC 2002 OS (Operating System) that it comes with includes Excel. It is very nice, and does all of the functions that I used on the desktop. It doesn't include the functions that nobody has heard of. Both of these programs come with these fonts: Tahoma, Courier New, Frutiger Linotype, and Bookdings/Webdings. You can install fonts from your computer and websites (a tutorial later).
The iPAQ 3835 also comes with a SD (not SDIO (Secure Digital Input/Output)) slot, a sound recorder, a spot for the iPAQ expansion packs, a stylus, a screen protector, a case (mine did), a sync cable or cradle, a power cable (mine did (for charging away from a computer)), and a bootup CD.
One of the best features of the iPAQ 3835 is its really good quality screen. By that I mean the backlight. It also has pretty good battery life. The other day I was listening to my voice recording for an hour and a half with the screen off (this is acheived by holding down the power button) and it only used 20% of my battery life.
